On September 9, 2011 professional Japanese musicians who are currently members of various orchestras in Berlin gathered in the famous Kaiser-Wilhelm-Gedächtniskirche to give a charity concert for their friends from the Sendai Philharmonic Orchestra. The facilities of the Sendai Philharmonic Orchestra were severely damaged by the Great East Japan Earthquake on March 11, thus the artists had to stop all musical activities. The live record of this wonderful concert including the audience’s enthusiastic reactions is now available as a double CD. All profits from the CD sales will be donated to the Sendai Philharmonic Orchestra.
